Kevin Tydlaska-Dziedzic
CEO | Lead Photographer
It was at the age of 13 while taking a 4H Photography class that Kevin fell in love with the art form. Throughout his youth Kevin explored and excelled in many different creative avenues but Photography was one that always drew him in - specially, portraiture. Kevin earned his BFA in Commercial Photography from RMCAD (Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design), interned at CBS NYC, assisted a NYC-based celebrity Photographer and began working as a Digital Tech with brands like New York & Company, Macy’s and more. Kevin began photographing fashion, product, food, jewelry, portraits, and finally, headshots. Six years ago Kevin created BKN Creative Headshot Day, a full day dedicated to headshots, champaign, music, hair and makeup, and lots of laugher. As of today Kevin has photographed well over 250 Professionals and Actors throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Marissa Moran
Stylist
As a Cuban-American, Tampa native, Marissa started her career off with her passion for dance and theatre in mid-school which developed into heading the hair and makeup departments all four years of high school. Marissa has been a professional hairstylist and makeup artist for 14 years and specializes in behind-the-chair cut and coloring and bridal styling. She has worked with BKN going on three incredible years and being apart of this team has singlehandedly sparked a creative fire back into her life.
I don’t enjoy having my picture taken. It’s always super stressful for me. I have had “headshots” done before and they were all kinds of wrong and didn’t see the light of day.
Kevin Tydlaska-Dziedzic and Marissa Moran Hicks make having headshots taken an incredible and fun experience. They didn’t mind that I bought probably 50 clothing options because my nerves got the best of me (this is not an exaggeration to make them seem even more amazing, I legit dumped a good portion of my closet and put it into a garment bag that didn’t even close). The atmosphere is laid back and filled with music, singing, and laughter.
I left after the session knowing the pictures would come out great. But I was wrong. Great doesn’t come close to how amazing they came out (this is just one of many and happens to be my favorite!!!). I have already put my family on notice that Kevin and Marissa are going to be taking our picture in 2020 and they just need to be ready for this experience.
BKN Creative has headshot day every month and I would highly recommend them as they are not only good people, but they are truly talented at their craft.
